Tesa Acx: Constructive Bonding Applications of Tesa Acx Plus Tapes

Tesa ACX Plus is a double-sided tape designed specifically for constructive bonding. Their bonding has the ability to give adequate strength that would last for decades when applied onto items with different surface characteristics. With its excellent stress dissipation properties, it can be reliably used in bonding substrates together, which has varying rates of thermal contraction and expansion. Its resistance to chemical, weather and temperature also implies that Tesa ACX tapes will perform very well in outdoor conditions for long durations.

All these benefits are a result of the viscoelastic properties of the special adhesives used in making the tape. The incredible balance between the elastic and viscous behaviors of the tape helps in ensuring perfectly strong bonds, which also have the ability to absorb dynamic vibrations and forces. Consequently, this helps in reducing the stress, which in turn makes the adhesive bonds more stable and permanent.

The design of TESA ACX tape includes the ability to absorb stress, up to three times its thickness. This means that TESA ACX tape of 0.5mm can accommodate expansion bonds of up to 1.5mm. For instance, if you were to bond aluminum to glass at a temperature differential of 700C, the expected expansion in the aluminum is 1.5mm more than that of the glass, leading to a lot of stress on the bond. The design of the tape is that it will be durable and will recover the bonded parts, leading to a permanent solution for bonding surfaces with different thermal loads.

The applications of TESA ACX are wide and varied due to the unique technology used in its design and manufacturing. It can be used as a bonding solution even when no other adhesive can be used for satisfactory results.
